How to Design a Simple Pattern With Inkscape

 
Pattern is the repetition or alternation of elements or shapes in design on a regular pattern.

    This tutorial gives you an easy way to create a pattern for your background, designs and soon using inkscape. If there is any part of this tutorial you don't understand don't hesitate to ask me through the comment box or contact us. 

    Let's Get Started.

    1. Launch inkscape program.

  Ensure that your page zoom is 1:1 and your page border is unchecked on document properties


 2. Create a shape of your choice. The shape can be circle, spring, curve, star and so on. Preferably use a logo or vector design.


 

    3. Select the shape then click object on the top menu or select the Shape press Alt+I and skip step 5, 6 and 7. 

    4. On the drop-down options select pattern.

    5. From the pop-up click object to pattern.

    6. Get the shape you created selected then click the shape tool.

If you created a circle select the 'create circle tool'

 


7. Right click or double click and hold on the little square at the edge or snap of the selected shape and move inward to create the pattern. 

8. Tick the little circle at the other edge of the selected shape and move to rotate the pattern.



 

    You are done creating a simple pattern design using inkscape.
