How To Turn On Auto-save In Inkscape

     If you are still working with an outdated version of inkscape, download the latest version here.

   The most frustrating thing that will ever happen to a graphic designer or a computer user is when the program they are working on unfortunately stopped working after creating a very hard and time taking work. the system gives information like inkscape encountered an internal error or inkscape graphic vector editor has stop working.


    Do not loose your work again in inkscape because inkscape has an auto-save feature that enables your work to get saved automatically while you work. Any time inkscape crashes either due to Software failure or system failure, a message indicating the name of the auto-saved document with location pops-up. 

     So we are going to go through the methods to enable this feature.

Steps

  • Launch Inkscape program
  • Go to edit>preference (shift+ctrl+P)
  • A window pops-up, scroll the left hand side of the windows untill you find input/ output the click it drop-down icon.
  • From the drop-down options select auto-save
  • Enable it then set the intervals and the number of times auto-save should take place

  • Close the window
  • Restart Inkscape program.

And you are done enabling auto-save.
